Lighting Diagram for MDNA Tribute Image

I got a huge response from my Madonna MDNA cover art tribute. A lot of people asked me what filter or app did I use for the glass effect. I actually shot through glass; I did this shoot in my bathroom and could only fit one light. Also the more visible you want to see your face the closer you have to stand to the glass. I tried variations. This shoot was meant for my Facebook profile and only took me about twenty minutes to do.

Volunteering Efforts

I have been teaching photography to gay teens as a volunteer at the Long Beach LGBT Center. I started in October of 2011. Thanks to community leaders like Justin Rudd, Robert Garcia and the local Wal-Mart that donated the disposable cameras for us to use during my workshop. We are in the final stages of scanning our negatives and editing them down for a self-publishing project. This is an image from the color splash assignment taken by one of my students. We both liked the grunge of the dust and scratches and the planetary color effects.

MDNA Tribute

My shower door does a similar glass effect like the one on Madonna’s new album cover. It was a tight fit, I was only able to squeeze one light in with me.
